Overview

As part of the preparation phase for the Batam-Bintan Bridge Project, this consultancy service conducts a comprehensive socio-economic baseline survey to support the development of the Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), the Land Acquisition and Resettlement Action Plan (LARAP), and the Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP). The survey covers affected households and communities in Batam Island and Bintan Island, capturing gender-disaggregated socio-economic data, vulnerable groups, land and asset ownership, livelihood conditions, and community perceptions. Findings will form the basis for compensation frameworks, livelihood restoration programs, grievance redress mechanisms (GRM), and stakeholder consultation strategies. By establishing a robust baseline, the project ensures alignment with national regulations and international safeguard requirements, thereby fostering inclusive, transparent and sustainable implementation of the Batam-Bintan bridge infrastructure.
