Overview

This consultancy provides social safeguard due diligence and LARAP preparation services for the Pomalaa HPAL Nickel Project, a strategic nickel processing initiative developed by PT Vale in Southeast Sulawesi. The assignment is carried out in alignment with IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and Indonesian regulatory frameworks governing land acquisition and resettlement.

The study involves verifying land acquisition processes, identifying project-affected persons and assets, assessing livelihood impacts, and preparing the Land Acquisition and Resettlement Action Plan (LARAP) consistent with IFC requirements. Additionally, it includes stakeholder consultations, grievance redress mechanism (GRM) development, and the formulation of corrective action plans to bridge gaps between national procedures and international best practice.

Through this due diligence process, the project ensures that land acquisition and resettlement activities for the Pomalaa HPAL facility are conducted transparently, equitably, and in compliance with international sustainability and human rights standards — thereby supporting ethical project financing and long-term social sustainability.
